We understand that plans can shift at ThistleWoodPark and we are committed to implementing refund policies that are both equitable and explicit. This document provides the criteria under which refunds may be granted for our yacht rental services.

Before you reserve a yacht, we urge you to peruse this policy. Acceptance and adherence to these refund terms is implied when you make a reservation with ThistleWoodPark.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule

More than 72 Hours Prior to Charter

100% Refund

Refund Eligibility: Complete refund excluding processing charges

Transaction Timing: 5-7 business days

Handling Charge: €50 for credit card payments

Prerequisites: Must be formally requested either via electronic mail or telephone

24-72 Hours Prior to Charter

50% Refund

Refund Eligibility: Half of the total charter expense

Transaction Timing: 7-10 business days

Handling Charge: €25 subtracted from the refunded amount

Prerequisites: Cancellation must be justifiable; administrative expenses will be incurred

Less than 24 Hours Prior to Charter

No Refund

Refund Eligibility: No reimbursement is offered

Exceptional Case: Consideration may be given to emergencies

Alternative: Charter credit might be furnished at the discretion of management

Prerequisites: Emergency situations must be substantiated by supporting documents

Adverse Weather Cancellations

Our Pledge On Weather Conditions

The safety of our customers is paramount. Should our licensed captain judge the weather conditions to be too hazardous for the voyage, the following options are made available:

  • Full Reimbursement: A complete refund is offered if rescheduling isn't an option
  • Reschedule: You may reschedule your charter to another available date at no extra cost
  • Charter Credit: A voucher valid for one year from the original charter date can be issued

Procedure for Evaluating Weather

To evaluate weather suitability, we consider:

  • Analyzing wind speed and direction
  • Assessing wave height and sea conditions
  • Checking forecasts of visibility and precipitation
  • Reviewing Coast Guard advisories and warnings
  • Evaluating the certified captain's safety assessment

Timing for Decision: Assertion of weather-based cancellations occurs not later than 4 hours before the planned departure time.

Refunds Following Medical Urgencies

Unforeseen Medical Situations

We are sympathetic to the occurrence of unforeseen health emergencies. Special considerations may be allotted for:

  • Sudden illness or accident demanding hospital admission
  • Passing of a member of the immediate family
  • Urgent military assignments or recall
  • Obligatory jury service or legal summons
  • Natural catastrophes impacting transportation

Documents Required

To facilitate a request under medical grounds, please provide:

  • A medical certificate or documentation from the hospital
  • A death certificate where relevant
  • Formal military directives
  • A court order or notice for jury duty
  • Public statements or alerts regarding travel

Procedure: Emergency repayment requests are processed within 3-5 business days upon submission of the necessary documents.

Cancellations Due To Operational Issues

Technical Malfunctions

In the event of mechanical failure with the assigned vessel that cannot be resolved promptly:

  • Substitute Yacht: We will try to provide a comparable alternative yacht
  • Complete Reimbursement: Provided if an equivalent yacht is unavailable
  • Proportional Reimbursement: Offered if the alternative yacht has a different rate
  • Compensation: Possible compensatory offers for any inconveniences caused

Lack of Available Crew

In rare instances where there's an unexpected lack of certified crew:

  • A replacement crew will be looked for where possible
  • A complete refund will be processed if the charter cannot proceed
  • Options to reschedule at no extra charge

Reimbursement Process

Refund Method

Refunded amounts will be returned using the original payment method:

  • For Credit Card Payments: 5-7 business days
  • For Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
  • For Cash/Cheque Payments: 3-5 business days

Fees for Processing

Credit Card Transactions

A €50 fee for cancellations occurring more than 72 hours prior

Bank Transfer Transactions

A €25 fee applies to all bank transfer refunds

International Transactions

Additional fees might be applicable for international refunds

Issuance of Charter Credit

Scenarios for Credit Issuance

Charter credits can be offered as an alternative to repayment under certain conditions:

  • Late notice of cancellation (less than 24 hours before)
  • Cancellations due to unfavorable weather
  • Voluntary requests to reschedule
  • Interruptions in operation

Terms for Credit

  • Effective Period: Valid for 12 months from the date of issuance
  • Transfer Restrictions: Cannot be reassigned to others
  • Value: Reflects the full cost of the charter (exempt from processing fees)
  • Utilization: Applicable to any available future charters
  • Expiry: Extensions beyond the 12-month period are not offered

Reimbursements for Partial Services

Interruptions in Service

If the yacht rental experience is interrupted or ends prematurely due circumstances we're accountable for:

  • Refunds calculated proportionally based on the unutilized time
  • A voucher for a future charter of equivalent value
  • Offers of complimentary services or upgrades

Interruptions Caused by Guests

If a yacht rental is concluded ahead of schedule due to misconduct from guests or safety breaches:

  • No refunds will be provided for the time unutilized
  • Full payment of the charter must be settled
  • Extra fees may be imposed dependent upon the specific situation

Conflict Resolution

If there is disagreement over a refund decision, one may:

  • Request a secondary assessment by our leadership team
  • Submit supplementary documents or proof
  • Look for a solution via consumer protection entities
  • Explore remedies prescribed by the pertinent legal provisions

  • The confirmation code for your reservation
  • Date and timing of your yacht booking
  • The reason behind the cancellation
  • Associated evidential documents (where needed)
  • Your preferred mode of reimbursement

Step 3: Consideration and Execution

Our staff will acknowledge your application within one day, examine it in light of this policy, provide our verdict within two days, and if approved, proceed with the refund within the previously mentioned periods.

Notable Remarks

  • All petitions for reimbursement need to be submitted in a written format
  • All reimbursements will be conducted in €, no matter the tender used initially
  • Acquisition of travel insurance is strongly advised
  • This policy may be amended given a thirty-day advisory
  • Refunds are subject to the relevant tax laws and regulations
